
Apple will no longer offer iCloud end-to-end encryption in the United Kingdom after the government requested a backdoor to access Apple customers’ encrypted cloud data.
As Apple told BleepingComputer on Friday, the optional Advanced Data Protection (ADP) feature introduced in December 2022 will no longer be available for new users in the U.K. starting today.

Footnote: This is a very bad idea, it’s like asking everyone in the UK to leave their front doors unlocked to make it easier for the Police to raid criminals homes. The fact is that criminals will lock their doors (or data by other means) and Joe public will be at a greater risk of having their homes burgled (data stolen and abused).
